Biography
My Grandfather was the one who introduced to me to horses. When I was very young he bred Welsh ponies. When I was 4, I wanted a horse and instead received a model horse, which later led to being involed in the model horse hobby. Horses, cats and other animals also became the subjects of countless crayon drawings.
I think I was in junior high when my parents asked if I wanted to take riding lessons or art lessons. I chose riding lessons, which eventually led to being accepted as an equestrian major at Averett University. However, I was an art major in high school and when I decided to drop my horse courses, I transferred to Messiah College and graduated with a BA in Fine Art and Graphic Design in 1986.
I married my college sweetheart and eventually we bought a house in beautiful Chester County, PA, deep in horse country. We have a son, Shane, and share our house with 3 cats. Max is a black Siamese mix. Zoe and Titan are Maine Coons from the same litter. Some of my other interests include gardening, baking, road biking and mountain biking.
In addition to working a fulltime 2nd shift job in telecommunications, I have been doing business as Evanson Art & Design since 2003 in my spare time.
