ACEO Original Giclee(Archival) Photos

Although I prefer my photographs to be large enough to print as posters, this doesn’t always happen. Sometimes only a piece of a photo turns out wonderfully. So, I’ve decided to print the pieces as ACEO’s. Only 1 photo of each image will be made. . . Authenticity: These photos are signed and numbered on the back and printed on semi-gloss photo paper, which resists finger prints. Each comes with a tiny COA (Certificate of Authenticity). Size: trimmed to 2.5"x3.5" (trading card size). At the moment, no items are available.

1969 Dodge Charger R/T (Photo): I took a bunch of photos while I was working on a portrait of this car. This is my favorite one. The owner offers this info on the car F828. The 1of1 ACEO size was sold.

Praying Mantis & Thistle: Praying Mantis hanging from a purple thistle in the classic praying pose. We often see these when hunting for monarchs. Taken with my Sony F828. The 1of1 ACEO size was sold.

Tiger Swallowtail #3: Backlit tiger swallowtial butterfly on a purple thistle. I spotted this lovely butterfly while Shane and I were looking for monarch eggs at a local park. Taken with my Sony F828. The ACEO size is sold out.

Punch No2: I decided to investigate some of the old ruins at Valley Forge and found this vulture on the other side of a chain link fence. Several of them live inside this old barn. Surprisingly, they have rather interesting expressions and seem very curious in respect to their surroundings.

Giclee Photos: Giclee (zhee-clay) is a French word meaning a spray or a spurt of liquid. While any inkjet printer could fall in this category, some people say it has to be at least a 6 ink printer and others say the minimum is 8 inks. My printer has 9 inks. My photos are made on a museum quality sermi-gloss photo paper (which has less problems with finger prints) using my professional giclee printer. Older photos may be printed on high gloss paper. According to the manufacturer, the prints have a life span of at least 105 years. The photos should be handled with care from the edges and should be kept away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight.

Posters: Posters are printed on semi-gloss or glossy photo paper, depending on what I have in stock. The paper is lighter weight than giclee paper. All posters have a copyright notice (eg: ©2009 Valerie Evanson • www.evansonart.com) in small print, usually in the lower left hand corner of the image. The white border will not show if you mat the posters.

Giclees: Giclees are printed on oversized paper for easier handling and matting: 5"x7" image is printed on 5.5"x8.5" paper, and 8"x10" image is printed on 8.5"x11" paper. Giclees have a copyright notice (eg: ©2009 Valerie Evanson • www.evansonart.com • open edition giclee) that is NOT visible when matted.

Matting: none. Giclees and posters are printed so the image fits a standard mat without losing important parts of the image. 5"x7" fits an 8"x10" mat, 8"x10" fits an 11"x14" mat. 11"x17" and 13"x19" posters fit an 18"x24" mat, just make sure you get the right window size (hole for the art) for your poster. Some matted photos may be listed under Discontinued and Clearance Art.
