Note that the white border on 5"x7" and 8"x10" prints will not be visible when matted. ACEO prints are 2.5"x3.5" (trading card size) limited editions, signed on the back and available Artfire and sometimes eBay. All other prints and posters are open editions. Red Turkenlouis Oriental Poppy: The original painting, which has been sold, is an oil of a red oriental poppy, painted in an impressionistic style. I used to have one of these elegant flowers in my garden. The ACEO size is sold out.

1969 Dodge Charger R/T Prints: The original drawing (a commission) is a mixed media portrait, which is in the car owner's private collection. The owner offers this info on the car: 440 big block, automatic with console, 3.23 rear and sure grip diff. The color is more red than that of the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard. It was important to the owner that I reduce the glare as much as possible on the body of the car. The owner has allowed me to release this image as prints and on merchandise. The ACEO size is available on Art Fire.

Maine Coon Cats: The original drawing is a 9"x9" graphite drawing my my Maine Coon cats Zoe (top) and Titan (bottom), which I drew in 2004. It was the EBSQ Art of the Day on August 19, 2005. I’ve done some serious adjusting of the image to fit it into these formats, but the important parts of it have been kept. The original drawing is not for sale. The ACEO size is sold out.

Black Cat on a Leopard Rug: The original oil painting is a close up of my cat Max’s face with our oriental rug in the background. Since the painting is so close to the edge, I have added a black border around the print so that you lose none of the image due to the printing process. The black border is visible when matted. The original painting is not for sale. The ACEO size is sold out.

Giclee Prints: Giclee (zhee-clay) is a French word meaning a spray or a spurt of liquid. While any inkjet printer could fall in this category, some people say it has to be at least a 6 ink printer and others say the minimum is 8 inks. My printer has 9 inks. My prints are made on a museum quality matte photo paper using my professional giclee printer. According to the manufacturer, the prints should last 100+ years. The photos should be handled with care from the edges and should be kept away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight. The ACEO prints are limited editions (limited quantity). The 5"x7" and 8"x10" prints are open edition (unlimited quantity).
DURABrite Prints: These are older prints that were made on my Epson printer. They are archival to 80+ years. Technically, they are not giclees because they are 4 ink prints, but I am listing them here anyway. The ACEO prints are limited editions (limited quantity).
Posters: 8"x10" and 13"x19" posters are printed on semi-gloss or glossy photo paper, depending on what I have in stock. For 11"x17" I use 48lb. glossy paper. All poster paper is lighter weight than giclee paper. All posters have a copyright notice (eg: ©2009 Valerie Evanson • www.evansonart.com) in small print, usually in the lower left hand corner of the image. The white border will not show if you mat the posters.
Giclees: ACEO’s are trimmed to 2.5"x3.5". The other sizes are printed on oversized paper for easier handling and matting: 5"x7" images are printed on 5.5"x8.5" paper, and 8"x10" images are printed on 8.5"x11" paper. Giclees have a copyright notice (eg: ©2009 Valerie Evanson • www.evansonart.com • open edition giclee) that is not visible when matted.
Matting: none. Giclees and posters are printed so the image fits a standard mat without losing important parts of the image. 5"x7" fits an 8"x10" mat, 8"x10" fits an 11"x14" mat. 11"x17" and 13"x19" posters fit an 18"x24" mat/frame, just make sure you get the right window size (hole for the art) for your poster.
